Wesley United Church Women
Purpose: to unite all women of the congregation for the total mission of the Church and to provide a medium through which we express our loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship, and service.
This group of women meets for prayer, friendship, and conversation on the second Tuesday of each month.
The UCW supports the ministry of Wesley United Church and contributes to many community causes: Coins for Kids-Vincent Massey Elementary School Breakfast Programme, Passamaquoddy Lodge and so much more! All women are warmly welcome to attend or support their fundraisers.
Midweek Spiritual Gatherings
Our Alternative Worship and Spirituality group hosts contemplative evening gatherings at Wesley United. We mark seasons of the year – such as Fall Equinox or Winter Solstice, Samhain-All Hallows-the Day of the Dead, and Maundy Thursday. Those of all spiritual paths are welcome.
Wesley Groups
Wesley Groups are often run for reflective and informal discussion – we have studied The Artist`s Way, Celtic spirituality, and more. New participants are always welcome!
Wesley Drumming Circle
Wesley Drumming Circle meets once a month. All drummers welcome – no experience required- of all ages and all spiritual paths.
All groups are open to those of all spiritual paths and perspectives. Additional groups and events are offered from time to time. For more information, please contact us.
Music and Choir
Our choir leads the singing and offers special music at our Sunday morning worship and other services. The choir participates in ecumenical services and other community events.
Choir practices are on Mondays at Wesley United Church, September through June.
We are blessed to be home to a Kawai Baby Grand Piano donated to the St Andrews Arts Council by Joan Carlisle-Irving, which we use regularly during our worship services. New choir members are always welcome!
Music is a big piece of our Community Outreach. Each summer Wesley United provides a welcome space to the St Andrews Arts Council Summer School Programs.
St. Andrews Open Door (Food Bank)
Wesley United provides space and support for St Andrews and Area Open Door Program (Food Bank); which encourages the purchase of fresh and healthy food while empowering clients to shop independently. They are open one Wednesday a month.
If you live in the St Andrews, Chamcook, Bocabec, or Bayside area, and are needing some assistance, please come by – with proof of address – and if you haven’t been before, there is a simple registration process. You will be treated with compassion and respect and your privacy will be honoured.
For information or in case of urgent need, please phone (506) 927-0000.
Passamaquoddy Lodge
Wesley United Church offers communion at Passamaquoddy Lodge at 10:30 a.m. on the second Thursday of the month. Many of our congregants visit or volunteer at the Lodge.
